[email protected] spheres with a structure were synthesized and thermally annealed at 800 ºC to obtain (SiO2@CSs). The silica core was removed by etching NaOH, hollow carbon (CSs) being obtained. particle size of SiO2@CSs CSs increased the ethanol/water (E/W) volumetric ratio (2, 4.5, 7) employed in first synthesis step (i.e., Stöber's method particles). Moreover, average diameter materials prepared E/W 2 affected SiO2 (from 168 109 nm), contrast those higher ratios 4.5 7 (251–245 270–284 nm, respectively). specific surface area (SBET) ranged from 271 602 m2 g−1, which are more porous than (SBET range 115–144 g−1). Adsorption kinetic equilibrium studies carried out diclofenac venlafaxine as model organic micropollutants (OMPs). Despite removal not effective for all (TGA residue ranging 3 46 wt%), ATR-FTIR spectra confirmed positive effect having removing core). Equilibrium demonstrated that an best performing material when considering both OMPs. these performed well remove set 24 OMPs wastewater effluents thus, they interesting option water or treatment.

Nitrogen doped porous carbon hollow spheres (N-PCHSs) with an ultrahigh nitrogen content of 15.9 wt% and a high surface area of 775 m(2) g(-1) were prepared using Melamine-formaldehyde nanospheres as hard templates and nitrogen sources. The N-PCHSs were completely characterized and were found to exhibit considerable CO2 adsorption performance (4.42 mmol g(-1)).
